Course Information

Well the course did really well coming out of winter, no snow mold or any other major damage! Up until this last storm and the cold weather the course was close to being ready to open. The million dollar question is when will the course be open, honestly I can't answer that. If we get some warmer weather and some wind, the course will dry out really fast. So keep calling, emailing, and stopping out and will just play it by the weather. I hope everyone is as excited about the 2011 golf season as I am, we have done some drainage work over the winter and we are going to be starting the front 9 sand trap project as soon as the weather lets us. So stay tuned and I will be updating with pictures and notes frequently. Clubhouse hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. and will remain that way until the course opens for play. So stop out and say Hi-

Cart Shed Rental and Trail Fee

I hope this message finds you warm and toasty this winter! It has been a good winter golf course wise so far, with good snow cover and temps not fluctuating between freezing and thawing we shouldn't see to much winter damage come spring. Let's keep our fingers crossed:)
You should have received your cart shed rental and trail fee letter in the mail by now, if you have any questions or concerns please contact the golf course and I will be happy to answer any questions that you might have. Please make sure you get that in by the due date, it is very important for our bookwork and it makes things alot easier for all of us if you beat the deadline of March 1st.
I just got back from the Iowa Turfgrass Conference that I attend every year in Des Moines. It was a great conference with alot of fresh new ideas and suggestions for this upcoming 2011 golf season. I currently serve on the Board as the Central Director, I can say its been well worth the time and effort, I get to stay really involved and up to date with all things turf management. Lakeside Information

Well winter is finally upon us, the golf course is covered in snow and can finally be put to bed for the year! By now I assume most of you have heard that Kevin Ault left Lakeside to move to Waverly, Ia and pursue a different job. After months of thinking and planing, I have decided to take a new position and over see the whole golf course operation. I will be still be involved in all maintenance decisions but out of the day to day operation. I have a great crew and have few worries that the golf course will miss a beat and will only continue to get better. The clubhouse will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:00 to 6:00 during the month of December so you can get you season pass or that gift certificate for that hard to get person on your Christmas list. Stop out and say Hi!
